How to help your team to make the right next career step
Tips on how to help your team to figure out what's next for them
Hey there,
This week I had an interesting challenge that has tapped into my passion for psychology and coaching. I’ve had to help a friend to figure out what’s next for them in their career. And as you can imagine, once you get into that situation where you have many doors that open all of a sudden, it’s not as easy to pick which one to go through next.
This made me realize that this maybe helpful for my team too, and maybe yours as well. When you see a member on your team being less engaged than usual and being justly slightly more absent, chances are they’re doubting that their current role is the right choice for them. It’s much more likely to result in a better outcome for you and your team, if you address it proactively and help your team member to speak up and externalize what they’re going through.
Here are a few coaching resources that you can suggest them to try to help find clarity. My friend and I tried them and have proven effective reflection tools.
