Hey there,
Another week, we’re already at the end of Q1 - how???
One of my yearly goals is that I want to get more control of my schedule and really truly maximize my impact by increasing my focus. Last week I hosted a Clubhouse session with the “The Week in Product” club and Nir Eyal joined us as a special guest.
His new book “Indistractable” has received lots of feedback, both positive and negative, and while I highly recommend reading it (at the very least to form your own opinion!), the team and I have pulled together the key takeaways from our conversation with Nir.
One particular idea stayed with me long after our chat with Nir: It’s all about intentionality. If you intend to be indistractable, you will with a much higher probability push back on distractions. And if you then also deploy and test tactics and techniques to stay focused you have a much higher chance of succeeding, than if you leave it all up to chance.
I’ve also dug into more related resources on how to maximize focus and counter distractions below.
